Stoke Poges shows off classic cars

A classic car display, a brass band, beer tent and displays from garden centres are some of the attractions at this weekend's 115th annual Stoke Poges, Wexham and Fulmer Horticultural Society Show.
The show will be held on Saturday from 1.30 pm at the Stoke Poges School.

The community library in Chalfont St Giles is expanding its service thanks to a new county library computer system which means it is now able to offer an improved web service.

Health visitor Well Baby clinics are held on the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 2pm to 3.30pm in the Guide Hut, School Lane.

Time is running out to book a stall for the Chalfont St Giles village show, which takes place in Stone Meadow on September 6.

Giant poisonous plant removed

Fears that a plant capable of causing burns and blindness would pose a threat to visitors to September's Chalfont St Giles show have been stamped out now the plant in question has been cut down.

The results of this summer's drink-drive campaign shows drivers are still failing to get the message about the potential dangers of drink-driving.

Chalfont St Giles is to receive a royal visit on Thursday afternoon (July 24).

Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall are to visit Milton's Cottage in Deanway, Chalfont St Giles, as part of the village celebrations to mark the 400th anniversary of the poet's birth.

There was a lot of shaking and hip swaying at the Popstars Dance Academy presentation in Chalfont St Giles last week.

Six cars in different locations in Chalfont St Giles and Chalfont St Peter had their windscreens broken during the weekend (July 19 and 20).

Paradise was definitely regained for pupils at Chalfont St Giles Infant School last Friday when the school held a special beach party to celebrate the 400th anniversary of John Milton's birth.
