Chalfont St Giles september show
Would-be time lords should fly to Chalfont St Giles village green to buy tickets from an inter-galactic ticket booth for September's country show.
A Tardis will beam up in Chalfont St Giles on Saturday, August 23, and again on August 30, where it will be used to sell discounted advance tickets for the show.
Perhaps appropriately, the time machine has been donated by satellite broadcaster Arqiva (of Chalfont Grove) and will be auctioned at the show on September 6.
Ros Massey, chair of the show, said: "The show is looking really good and seeing the Tardis is an excellent way of buying a ticket in advance and at a discount."
The gift of Dr Who's much-loved time-machine is a welcome boost for the organisers of the show, who this week decided to cancel the fun run.
""Sadly the run has been cancelled," said Mrs Massey.
"It is a victim of its own success, we had around 200 people running last year and had hoped to organised a 5km junior run this year too, but we couldn't get the marshals.
"Traditions rely on goodwill from volunteers and you have to have people to give a few hours of their time."
Mrs Massey said that the run would go ahead at next year's show.
Advance tickets for the show will be on sale from the Tardis on Chalfont St Giles village green on Saturday, August 23 and 30, from 9.30am until midday. Advance tickets for under 16s and concessions cost £2.50 and £4 for adults. Tickets for both age brackets cost £1 extra on the day of the show.
Anyone keen to volunteer to help at the show should phone Rob Fowler on 01494 872564.
