CSG-Womens-US-Club.jpgThe Chiltern American Women's Club is celebrating its 21st birthday this year and last week featured in a Radio 4 programme entitled Lives in a Landscape: Stars, Stripes and Chalfont St Giles'.
On Sunday, November 23, it held now-famous bazaar at the BellHouse Hotel in Beaconsfield, an event which usually raises approximately £10,000 for charity. Club chairwoman Louise Fortier is confident that the sum raised this year will be equally healthy, with the money going to the NSE and Bucks Carers.

22342743 CSG-House-Swap.jpgFour families have given the Chalfont St Giles property market a welcome boost and saved themselves money and stress by swapping houses.
Melissa and James Dickinson moved last month from Albion Road to a property in Back Lane, exchanging houses with Frances and Alan Hawkins.
The Dickinsons wanted a larger house for their three children, while Mr and Mrs Hawkins wanted to downsize now their children have left home.

Chalfont St Giles will take on an old-fashioned feel for the turn-on of its Christmas lights.
On Saturday, December 6 Father Christmas will be the star of the show.
Just before he arrives, at 6pm, a procession of village children will make their way to the village green in time for carol singing.
The evening's proceedings will continue until 7.30pm with entertainment for all the family.

Charities will still receive donations from the proceeds of the Chalfont St Giles village show, even though bad weather meant that this year's takings were disappointingly low.
Fred Nolan, honorary president of the show, confirmed that the show's profits this year came to just under £2000, which he said would be divided among the 11 charities and organisations that had applied for money.
