Chalfont St Giles Junior School Christmas fair
Pupils from Chalfont St Giles Junior School celebrated the festive season with their very own Christmas fair.
Around £4,000 was raised during the event on Friday, December 12, which saw a number of stalls on offer including splat-the-rat, pin-the-nose-on Rudolph, hook-a-bauble, beat-the-buzzer and 'feely boxes' containing mystery items to touch.
Pupils of the school, in Parsonage Road, used the fair as a test bed for their own business ideas; during a 'mini-enterprise' afternoon, they conducted a school-wide survey to discover what stalls and prizes would be most popular and then built the stalls themselves in their Design and Technology class, before using their computer skills to market the fair in advance.
Kate La Motte, a parent governor at the school, said: "It was loads of fun and everyone worked hard."
