Charity mufti day for Co-op staff

CSG-Co-op-Hearing.jpgThe new manager of the Co-operative in Chalfont St Giles was given a surprise on Tuesday when he and his staff were asked to report for work in their pyjamas.
Haydn Scarlett, 24, took up his new role at the store on Saturday, January 24, only to discover that Tuesday was not so much 'dress down' day as 'undress day'.
Mr Scarlett and his team took part in a 'wake-up call' sounded by the Royal National Institute of the Deaf (RNID), which is the national Co-op's charity of the year for 2009.

All 13 staff members donned pajamas as part of the RNID's campaign to encourage people to take a hearing test, which can be done over the phone or online.
Staff also collected money which will go direct to help people in this area who are deaf.
It was all in a day's work for Mr Scarlett, who said that he is looking forward to working in Chalfont St Giles and getting to know his customers.
"It's a good place, the customers are very supportive and you can get everything you want here," he said.
Mr Scarlett added that the store is particularly popular with older people and those with children and that he has plans to increase the stock offered by the store.
You can take the RNID five-minute hearing test on Tel 0844 800 3838 or via www.rnid.org.uk/hearingmatters.
