CSP-Coin-Laying.jpgChiltern Open Air Museum is gearing up for its re-opening by asking youngsters to get involved in laying a huge penny trail around the site.
The coins being laid are all funds that have been donated to the site by the Friends of the Museum, and it is hoped that the trail will run around the museum's 18th Century Skippings Barn in a huge spiral.

CSG-News-Contest.jpgA budding journalist at Chalfont St Giles Junior School has been awarded for his ability.
Issa Doha, a year five pupil at the school in Parsonage Lane, was judged to be the best reporter after his school held an exercise in which they had to write in the style of a newspaper.
Pupils wrote about their recent geography project, which saw them paying a visit to Chalfont St Giles village centre to monitor traffic activity.

CSG-Red-Nose-Horse.jpgEven the animals got involved with the Red Nose fun at the Chiltern Open Air Museum on Friday.
Sovereign the shire horse donned a red nose to the delight of school children visiting the museum in Gorelands Lane.
The large nose was made especially for Sovereign by staff at the centre to allow him to join in with the fun.

CSG-Buffaloes.jpgBuffalo calves are a very welcome addition to Flexmore Farm in Chalfont St Giles, where farmers Vicky and Stephen Hinds have plans to sell leather goods made from buffalo hide.
Mrs Hinds explained that the farm currently has 31 buffalo and seven new-born calves.
"We hope take the hide, which a local student will fashion into leather goods, which will be stamped with Chalfont St Giles," she said.

CSG-Fire.jpgFire tore through a used car premises in Chalfont St Giles today damaging three quarters of a family business that has taken 25 years to create.
Three fire crews were called to the blaze at NDG Motor Company on Hill Farm Lane industrial estate, just after 2am today (17/3).
An estimated 70 per cent of the business has been destroyed.

22075361 TVP.jpgPolice patrols are to be stepped up in Chalfont St Giles following two incidents during the weekend of March 7 and 8, where vehicles in School Lane and Bottrells Lane were badly vandalised during foiled car thefts.
PCSO Gavin McVeigh of Chalfont St Giles police confirmed that a team of eight officers are to mount an on-going police operation, involving foot patrols in the village and visits to shops that sell alcohol.

23119176 CSP-Grave.jpgA widow has been left distraught after a crystal she left on her husband's grave in Chalfont St Giles was stolen.
Daryl Hughes, who died of cancer two years ago at the age of 42, has a headstone at the cemetery in Bowstridge Lane, Chalfont St Giles.
His wife Kim and their two sons regularly visit the grave to leave things there but were horrified to learn that a crystal that they had left hanging on a cross at the grave had been taken.

Salvatore Fernandez, proprietor of the White Hart Inn in Three Households, hit upon the idea of hosting Mary and Thomas Bayliss, Bristolians who tied the knot an incredible 68 years ago, as an ideal way to celebrate the romantic spirit of Valentines day.
