Young writer deemed to best reporter
A budding journalist at Chalfont St Giles Junior School has been awarded for his ability.
Issa Doha, a year five pupil at the school in Parsonage Lane, was judged to be the best reporter after his school held an exercise in which they had to write in the style of a newspaper.
Pupils wrote about their recent geography project, which saw them paying a visit to Chalfont St Giles village centre to monitor traffic activity.
They accompanied police on the trip and used a Speed Indication Device (SID) to make sure that motorists were not exceeding the 30mph speed limit in Dean Way.
Drivers found exceeding the limit were sent a letter by police warning them that their speed had been noted and that they should slow down in future.
The pupils also spoke to pedestrians and residents of the village to find out if their opinions on life in the village.
Afterwards, pupils were told to write up their experiences in the style of a news article.
Issa's work was judged to be the best due to the fact that it was more similar to an actual news article than the other pupils' efforts, and because it packed in all the information into a small amount of words.

I hope he can write better than your careless headline writer.
Who did the "deeming" of the "budding journalist"? A teacher? The police? Anyone qualified? What has shadowing traffic police got to do with "geography"? Rather fuzzy reporting here.
