Vikings invade Chiltern Open Air Museum

Posted by Jack Abell on Jul 8, 09 11:31 AM in People

VISITORS to the Chiltern Open Air Museum should be on their guard this weekend because the site is set to be invaded by Vikings.
A group of the barbarians will take on an army of Saxons at the museum in Gorelands lane Chalfont St Giles.
The Valhalla group, one of the oldest re-enactment societies in the country will give visitors the chance to find out about Viking lifestyles and battle techniques, as well the opportunity to see a Viking camp.
Sue Shave, director of the museum, said: "This is a splendid opportunity for visitors to try on Viking and Saxon armour, try out Viking archery and find out what the soldiers ate each day."
