Ann Widdecombe MP's visit to support hospice
ANN Widdecombe MP lent her support to the South Bucks Hospice at its fundraising lunch.
Ms Widdecombe did a book signing of her four novels when she visited the event at Harewood Downs Golf Club, Chalfont St Giles.
She also gave a speech about her life as an MP and answered the questions of some of the 140 supporters who attended the lunch last Thursday.
Ruth Pettitt, the hospice's appeals manager, said: "We were very privileged to have Ann Widdecombe attend our annual charity lunch, which helped us raise over £2500. Ann was very passionate about the hospice movement and stressed how important it was to continue to support this very good charity."
South Bucks Hospice needs to raise £750,000 every year to continue with its services, she added.
The charity, based in High Wycombe, supports sufferers of incurable illnesses, their families and carers free of charge. It also has a lymphoedema Clinic in Hazlemere which offers treatment and support for people with the condition.
