Snow forces school closures

SCHOOLS across Bucks have been forced to close today after the county was covered in heavy snowfall overnight.
Roads have been affected and journeys made more hazardous by the conditions forcing many schools to close a day early for Christmas term.

Gritters have been despatched to Chesham and Amersham to try and ease driving conditions.

The only gritters seen in Chalfont St Giles have been on the A413 but they have NOT been gritting. No one I know has seen a gritter operating in this area, and it is extreme annoying to be told that all roads have been gritted repeatedly when they have not.
A request for an explanation from Bucks Highways Dept solicited the response " we shall try to respond within five days."
